TERMS & CONDITIONS
AGE REQUIREMENT
All drivers must be over 21 years of age.
DRIVING LICENSE
A valid driving license held for at least one year is required from the driver.
OFF-ROAD USE
Off-road use of any kind is strictly prohibited.
Vehicles are to be driven exclusively on roads with asphalt or concrete surfaces.
In particular, customers who choose to drive the vehicle on the road to Balos should be aware that this route is considered especially challenging, and as a result, they will be required to acknowledge and accept an additional penalty fee starting from €200.
By using the vehicle on this specific route, customers agree to these terms and conditions.
GRACE PERIOD
One rental day is considered from 9 AM til 9 PM.
At the end of the agreed rental period, Onyx Rentals allows a grace period of 29 minutes free of charge after which, the renter can be charged with a minimum of one full day rental.
TRAFFIC FINES
All fines resulting from the drivers conduct are born solely by the renter.
ADDITIONAL DRIVER/S
A charge of €5 per day has to be paid for each additional driver.
FUEL POLICY
The fuel is purchased by the customer and the vehicle must be returned always with the same amount of fuel. If the car is returned with less fuel, the customer will be charged only for the missing fuel, extra refuelling charge do not apply. Pre-paid fuel policy is available upon request at a special charge agreement with Onyx Rentals.
BABY SEATS
Standard baby seats are available and are free of charge.
High quality ISOFIX standard baby seats are available on request with a daily charge of €3.
GPS
Available on request with a daily charge of €5.
Cost of lost or damaged GPS device: €100.
FLEET AVAILABILITY
The Company reserves the right to provide a different car model to that originally reserved of an equivalent or higher model type.
COLLECTION / DELIVERY
Deliveries and collection for hotels in Hersonissos area are provided free of charge.
In some cases and at certain hours, deliveries and collections to and from Heraklion airport can be obtained free of charge by the customer, always according to prior agreement with our company.
Every collection or delivery which does not take place at Onyx Rentals location can be subject to extra charge. Please note that the charge for deliveries or collections outside working hours are at higher fee.

ONE WAY RENTALS
Applicable between any locations on Crete following a special charge agreement with Onyx Rentals. Please ask us for more details.
FERRY RESTRICTIONS
Allowed only with prior written agreement with Onyx Rentals.
RENTERS OBLIGATIONS
Proper and careful driving.
Occasionally and if necessary to check the amount of the cooling fluid in the vehicle engine cooling system and if the renter detects a level that is out of the normal, she/he must report it to our company immediately.
Occasionally and if necessary to check the oil level of the vehicle in the engine. If the renter detects that the level is not within the normal values, she/he must report it to our company immediately.
Before prior consultation with our company, the renter is strictly prohibited from adding any liquid (e.g. oil, braking fluid, coolant fluid) or carrying out any repair operations on the rented vehicle.
Only to use fuel suitable for the rented vehicle.
At all time to maintain the correct air pressure in the tires.
To always lock the unattended vehicle and to keep the car key in a safe location.
If any check light is lighten up on the dashboard of the vehicle that requires the intervention of a specialist or if there is an unusual change in the condition of the vehicle that also requires the intervention of a specialist, the renter has the obligation to immediately stop using the car and notify our company without any delays.
The renter while using the vehicle must have at all time her/his driver’s license and a copy of the rental agreement signed with our company.
ROAD ASSISTANCE
Available free of charge 24 hours service every day of the week, including special national holiday days or week ends.
INSURANCES
All authorized drivers of Onyx Rentals vehicles are covered against damages to third party death, injury, and property. All above mentioned coverages are subject to General Terms of the Onyx Rentals insurance contract with its Insurer.
Full insurance can be obtained by paying an additional fee, in this case the renters liability for damage to the rented vehicle can be reduced to a minimum liability of €1.200
Other available insurances:
- C.D.W, full insurance without excess.
- Theft protection.
- S.C.D.W, supplemental insurance for collision damage waiver which may reduce the customer liability towards the rented vehicle in case of vandalism, damaged tyres, damaged mirrors, broken glass (windshield) or by damages caused during parking.
- Personal Accident Insurance: for an extra daily charge, Personal Accident Coverage can be obtained covering driver´s and passenger´s medical expenses resulting from an accident with the rented vehicle up to €1.500 and for the loss of life or total / partial permanent disablement: up to €70.000 and €17.600 respectively.
Aggregate indemnity for every accident is limited to €88.000.
All insurances are void in the following cases:
- If the vehicle is used Off-Road.
- If the greek or international traffic law is violated.
- If the renter is driving under influence of alcohol, drugs or any other
hallucinating inducing substances. - If the renter is deliberately and maliciously causing an accident with the rented vehicle.
- If the rented vehicle is driven by a non authorized person out of the rental agreement.
- If the accident occurs after the expiration of the rental agreement.
- Damages caused by driving that does not meet road conditions or / and violates traffic rules.
- Damages caused by improper use of the vehicle.
- Failure to immediately notify the Police and Onyx Rentals in the event of an accident.
- Failure to report the stolen vehicle to the Police and Onyx Rentals within 6 hours of the incident.
- In case of use of the vehicle for purposes other than those stipulated in the contract, such as illegal transport of goods or road racing.
- Damaged or lost ignition key is only covered by the insurance company if it is proven to have occurred during an accident.
In any case, Onyx Rentals must replace the lost or damaged ignition key by handing over a new ignition key as soon as possible,
but the renter must reimburse the company for the cost of the lost or damaged ignition key.
Important Notice:
In any given case insurance claim can be obtained by paying an one-time administrative fee of €120.

TAXES
All rates might be subjected to V.A.T. and other municipal tax charges. Please ask us for more details.
NOTE
Pre-authorization (guarantee, deposit) is not needed when renting with our company and opting for full insurance. However when renting only with third party insurance, a credit card with enough available funds is required. The amount of the deposit varies according to the car type and model.
In this case please note that the refund can take up to 14 working days, depending on the issuing bank of the credit card.
Terms of Use & Privacy Policy
1. CONDITIONS
Onyxrentals.gr reserves the right to unilaterally modify or renew these terms and conditions. Onyxrentals.gr has the responsibility to inform the users about any modifications as well as any changes, through the website.
2. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Onyxrentals.gr is not responsible for any technical problems that may occur to users when attempting to access and or during their visit to the website, which are related to the operation or compatibility of their own systems they use to have access to the website. Nor is any responsibility for acts or omissions of third parties and in particular unauthorized third party interventions and / or information available through it.
3. USER OBLIGATIONS

However, you must understand that this withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of the processing, which is based on your consent for the period before you withdraw it, but also on the processing that takes place due to legal obligations of our company.
